About

Half an Amud a Day

Half Amud Yomi is a daily Torah learning program that makes the entire Talmud Bavli accessible — one half-page at a time.

What Is Half Amud Yomi?

Half Amud Yomi is a structured daily learning program in which participants study exactly one amud — one side of a page of Talmud — each day. Over the course of the full cycle, learners complete the entire Talmud Bavli at a gentle, sustainable pace.

How Is It Different from Daf Yomi?

Daf Yomi, the famous daily Talmud program, covers one full daf (two sides of a page) every day, completing the entire Talmud in about 7.5 years. Half Amud Yomi takes a different approach:

Daf Yomi
Half Amud Yomi
Pace
One full daf (2 amudim) per day
One amud (half a daf) per day
Cycle length
~7.5 years (2,711 days)
~15 years (5,422 days)
Daily time
45–90 minutes for most learners
20–45 minutes for most learners
Depth
Broad coverage at a brisk pace
More time to absorb, review, and understand each passage

Both programs cover the identical text — every word of the Talmud Bavli. Half Amud Yomi simply gives you twice the time to sit with each passage, making it ideal for those who want to learn seriously without feeling rushed.
